IEC Code (Import & Export ) (F)

Required at Custom Port, at the time of Import Export: IEC is required at the customs port when we have to make foreign commercial shipment or has to take clearance of import Shipment.

Required by Banks, when receive foreign currency after a specified limit /Purpose: Import Export Code is required by banks, when we receive any advance or dues against any commercial activities.

No need for Annual Renewal: In Import Export Code registration, there is no requirement of the annual renewal of License.

No Annual Compliances: As on date, there are no annual compliances (Returns Filings) after issuance of Import Export Code

2. Obtaining a license and documents for import is troublesome.
3. Importing from abroad can destroy the Domestic business.
4. Importing reduces the economic process of the country.
5. You may import the product while not quality.

1. IEC can be obtained from any of the Zonal and Regional offices of Director General of Foreign Trade depending on area/region where the individual/company is located. An application has to be submitted online at DGFT web site http://dgft.gov.in duly filled in along with required documents and fees.
2. First of all we have to prepare an application form in the prescribed format i.e. Aayaat Niryaat form 2A format and filed with the proper DGFT Regional office.
3. In the second step we have to prepare the necessary documents related to the applicant identity & address proof and legal entity proof with the bank details & certificate in respect of ANF2A.
4. In the third step once application has been completed, we file with the DGFT through DSC of the applicant and pay the appropriate fee or cost of the IEC Registration.
5. Once application has been approved then you will get the IEC Code in the soft copy from the government department.
